Easter has always been one of the most cherished holidays, not only for its religious significance but also for the traditions that accompany it. Among these, food plays a fundamental role, bringing families and communities together around the table. But have you ever wondered what dishes were prepared in the Middle Ages during Easter? And which foods, on the other hand, were considered forbidden?
The Offagna Museum Pole has devised an original and fun way to answer these questions, involving both adults and children in an immersive experience: “The Medieval Easter Banquets”, an interactive activity that will take place in the evocative setting of the Fortress of Offagna on April 19th and 21st, 2025.
For the occasion, the ancient fortress will transform into the perfect backdrop for a true educational game, designed to let participants discover the dietary habits and culinary curiosities of the Middle Ages, during a special time like Easter.
Through an engaging journey, visitors can learn while having fun, exploring customs, symbolisms, and the little secrets of medieval tables. And at the end of the game… a sweet surprise awaits all participants!
